Industrial automation experts OMRON have taken their European tour of flexible manufacturing on the road to Bradford, with exclusive demonstrations of state-of-the-art human-machine collaborative solutions not typically seen outside of a factory environment in because of their size and scale.
held on 14e-16e June at Strategic Partner – Reeco Automation – new Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR) center in Rowan Park, Bradford, over 75 guests from manufacturers in the Food & Beverage, Automotive and Pharmaceutical sectors attended received real inspiration to reimagine and reconfigure their manufacturing lines.
The demonstration area, comprising more than 200m2 presented a range of practical solutions for the factories of the future, enabling flexible and intelligent production improvements. The roadshow allowed visitors such as Unilever, Procter and Gamble, Carlsberg and Morrisons to witness first-hand experience of large-scale human-machine industrial automation solutions to address some of the key challenges facing manufacturers, such as palletization, transport and traceability.
Facilitating more agile and flexible manufacturing with less reliance on manual labor, reduced energy consumption and increased OEE, OMRON’s solutions are also future proof for the digital age. The roadshow featured OMRON’s most powerful fully autonomous mobile robot (the HD-1500) for heavy loads up to 1,500 kg, a variety of flexible solutions for palletizing and autonomous material transport and the RB1200 cobot palletizer working in harmony and in a sustainable way with the operators. Other complete solutions to solve current problems and difficulties of manufacturers included box-to-pallet transport, box-to-top conveyor of mobile robot, and conveyor-to-pallet with OMRON TM cobot.
Each system featured a combination of natural navigation and selectable autonomous navigation, an IoT dashboard, built-in serialization providing full traceability throughout the manufacturing process and, of course, the company’s Sysmac intelligent control platform. company.
Stuart Coulton, OMRON UK Marketing Director, comments: “We are thrilled to roll some of our most dynamic and collaborative human-machine automation solutions out of the factory and take them on the road for the very first time. in the UK, so our key customers can see and touch the flexible manufacturing systems of the future. We hope the roadshow will inspire today’s manufacturers to reinvent what’s possible on their production lines, enabling their facilities to remain nimble for years to come.
Mike Wilson, Director of Automation at the Manufacturing Technology Center, attended the event and said, “It was a great event. Attendees learned a lot about automation products and the use of mobile robot technology and how they could benefit UK manufacturing industry.
