UTA signs “Utopia” actress Jessica Rothe and her small Situation Productions banner – Deadline

EXCLUSIVE: UTA has signed actor Jessica Rothe (Utopia) and his production company, Lil’ Situation Productions, for representation in all areas.

Rothe is perhaps best known for starring in Blumhouse and Universal’s slasher happy day of the deadwhich has grossed over $125 million worldwide, along with its sequel, Happy Death Day 2U. She will next be seen alongside Bill Skarsgård in German filmmaker Mortiz Mohr’s dystopian actor A boy kills the world, produced by Sam Raimi and Roy Lee. Rothe also previously played at Universal All my life and MGM valley girland had a supporting role in Damien Chazelle’s Oscar-winning musical Lionsgate, The Earth.

On the small screen, it is then found in the limited series New Regency gas lamp, based on the QCode podcast of the same name, directed by Miles Joris-Peyrafitte and produced by Brian Kavanaugh-Jones and Emma Tillinger Koskoff. Previously, she was seen in Gillian Flynn’s series Utopia for Amazon, alongside John Cusack, Rainn Wilson and Sasha Lane. Additionally, she played the lead role in Delilaha project she developed with Sharon Horgan and Aaron Kaplan and produced by HBO Max.

Through her production company, Lil’ Situation Productions, Rothe seeks to develop impactful, character-driven stories across all genres, with an emphasis on female-centric narratives, featuring unexpected, complex roles and bold for women of all ages. She is currently developing several projects, including one that she wrote, through her banner.
